Unlike other industry awards that may have fees or biases, these accolades are the result of real-life traveller insights collected over a 12-month period on Trip Advisor.

How Did We Earn the Travelers’ Choice Award?

This Award is earned by properties with consistently glowing reviews; they rank among the top 10% of all listings on Trip Advisor, showcasing a dedication to hospitality excellence. So, your reviews and feedback are like beacons guiding fellow travellers to discover the magic of our small family-run business in Torquay on the English Riviera; a huge, heartfelt thank you to each and every one of you!

We have to admit that managing a small business alongside raising a family is a balancing act that demands a lot of dedication and effort; your unwavering support and enthusiasm keep us going! Nevertheless, this is just the beginning of our journey. There’s still so much more we plan to achieve but we often find ourselves limited by time and resources. With Dan back at his old job (see this blog post explaining why), handling the business mostly on my own between school drop-offs and pick-ups means there are limits to what I can accomplish in a day.  It’s somewhat ironic that while I was a primary school teacher, the days
often dragged on, but now, as a mum and business owner juggling
multiple responsibilities, the hours just fly by! Nonetheless, we cherish the
lifestyle and the quality time with family that this business provides and, despite all these plates spinning, it’s reassuring to know that we manage to go above and beyond to ensure each guest has a fantastic time with us.

Looking ahead to the rest of 2024

 Despite the general slowdown in hospitality bookings, we are feeling rather optimistic for the rest of this year. We’ve been fully booked for both bank holidays and are all set for this year’s English Riviera Air Show too!

So, please, raise a glass and join us in celebrating this evening. We’ve poured our hearts and souls into reaching this point, and it wouldn’t have been possible without the support of our amazing guests like you, who take the time to share your experiences with others.
